A lot of people are sleeping on Jilly from Philly. “The Real Thing” debuted with no one really talking about it-so one week later-I think I will. Its personal, sexy (and tastefully sexual), revealing, and even sad (competing for the saddest songs are: “Insomnia”, “I Just Wanna Be Loved”, and “Whenever You’re Around”. (9) No comeback girl gets growth without dealing with some of the not so pretty (introspective) stuff.

But alas introspection is a little too heavy for most people. Especially when we’d rather diss a celebrity in a picture than deal with our own personal setbacks, setups, and comebacks. So this post is partly for those pretty black blogs that decided at its inception that style won over substance.

The smartest black blog continues to be Concreteloop: with some its own comeback attributes amidst bake sales and downed servers circa 2006.
