The Comeback Girl

 I hate to get Steve Harvey on this Comeback Girl planet. But “what you aint gonna do” is come up on my blog and tell me about Lalah Hathaway and how I use my creative juices to describe her. On many levels this blog is tongue and cheek.

 On many more levels and in many circles most would describe me as quite successful even on my worst day. It is true that Lalah Hathaway never got her just due. And she’s been singing and making great music not just on her own but with Marcus Miller, Joe Sample et. al for quite awhile. I’ve loved her since 92′ when Comeback Girl was practically in diapers, I mean, 11th grade.

And for the drive by posting Lalah fans, on some level we ALL are making comebacks. And if you’re not pack it up and consider your life unexamined (and we all know what Socrates said about the unexamined life). Now I’m off to see a nice subtle nod to Donny Hathaway: “This Christmas”.
