Today sucks. Comeback Kids, I know you are probably thinking you are at the wrong blog. Not young Black edgy Mary Poppins. Yes Combackers, me. I woke up thinking….Well maybe that’s the problem. I usually like to create my day. I go over it in my head on what I want to accomplish and how things will go as smoothly as possible.
Well today that ain’t happen. I had some big not so Mary Poppinish moments:
1. I am driving on dead paper tags in 1 day. The dealer apparently never applied for the hard tags but conveniently cashed my tax and tag check. Then they tried to give me the okey doke when I went there in person to ask why after me reminding them a week before I left for DEN that I needed them. Well the dealer proceeded to say that he has some “hill billys working for him and you know how they are”? Interesting. I thought to myself so what do you say about your Black employees to your White customers? I reminded him that he was in the relationship business. I told his butt that he just didn’t sell me ONE car. He potentially sold me MANY. I love Betsy, but he is pushin it with his hand written letter if the tags aren’t fedex’d tomorrow to my house and I get pulled over. The MVA says that I can file a complaint if they don’t come tomorrow and this happens all the time. And my little homemade note from the dealer will not pass muster with the cops.
2. I found out last week that some fellow contractors were included on the winning side of a class action lawsuit to the tune of 1.2 million dollars. It was from 2001 to 2005-when guess what -I was working for this consulting company acting in the description that the case names. The class action paid out in December 2007. I called the class action admin today and I missed the deadline-but if I had of called three months ago they could have researched my claim. Thats really nice.
On the Mary Poppins side, my tulips are coming up. I can see the leaves. I just got back from Starbucks (my second trip today) cause I got ALOT OF WORK to catch up on. And the barista, bless his espresso making self. He made it right. Upside down. breve steamed perfectly. light caramel. 102 degrees.
