I haven’t written about my girl, Lalah Hathaway in SOOOOO long. Hi Lalah, Pank Room and E!!!
This is from The Daughter’s Of Soul tour. Comprised of Lalah Hathaway (Donny Hathaway), Simone (Nina Simone), Indira Khan (Chaka Khan), Leah McCrae (George and Gwen McCrae) along with the spiritual daughters, Joyce Kennedy, Nona Hendryx, Caron Wheeler, and Sandra St. Victor.
I love this Lalah Performance: “We Were Two” (from “Outrun The Sky). Cross your fingers for some grammy nods and wins on her latest ”Self Portrait”. I still have it on heavy rotation. Its a super smart CD. Get it.
(recently quite a few music greats crossed over from this life: Hiram Bullock, Joe Beck, Lee Young, Isaac Hayes, and LeRoi Moore. Rest in Peace. )

Hi, Comeback Girl! You’re so right about Lalah being a true musician. She’s so laidback and phenomenally talented. We were able to make it to her recent show at a D.C. area venue (Wolf Trap, VA). As always, she turned it out. She made me want to kick off my shoes, sit on the stage and sway to her unparalleled vocal range. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Curvy…she’s bad. I missed Wolf Trap, but I saw her around March at Constitution Hall.
And her range/riffs are a BANGER. Hope you and your friends got “Portrait”. After, almost 15 years of her being my FAVORITE singer in all the world …she still hasnt gotten her just due.
