Gratitude Friday: “Its The God In Me”

Everything she’s got, the girl’s been given. She call it a blessing, but you call it living.

If I can get a little ghetto urban contemporary up in this piece.

“Its The God In Me” cranks, mayne.

People spend so much time worrying about “other people”, what other people have, what other people are doing, where other people are going.

But what are YOU doing?

This sort of piggy backs on my sentiments yesterday, on the amount of time we spend all up in everybody else’s business, gov’t name blog investigations, property values etc. etc. So much wasted time, energy, and potential.

I’m grateful, though, that I can see God not only in myself but in others and even when they don’t see it in themselves.

Can I preach up in here for a minute? We are ALL shaped in the image of  THE creative life force and whether you call him (or her) God, Allah, Buddha, Divine Source, Infinite Being…tag you’re it.

On and offline, I’m still spending ALOT of time rebuking people’s tongue. Life and death is in it. As a (wo)man thinketh so is s(he)…so forth and so on. It’s why some people are still making money (and some lots of it) in the “recession” “depression”. All roads lead back to gratitude and “The God In You”.

So let me start:

1. I eye’d some stuff on twitter last night relating to a comment concerning why someone would follow someone else (paraphrased), coincidentally, I happen to be following the “provacative” “puesdo” ”celebrity”  in question. Twitter: the highschool years. I’m grateful to God that I have my own individual brain that I’ve had for a long time, even in highschool where I befriended and was attracted to a vast array of people. Im thankful that I’ve never needed permission to like someone else, and that I’ve never needed a reason to really justify it. I’m disappointed that grown people are still being led like sheep, still swayed by whichever way the wind blows. Jesus be a fence and not a brainless clique.

2.I’m grateful that I still see opportunity (another post to come) where most people see despair and decline. Case in point one of the many projects I am working on has a HUGE financial piece that somebody has been dropping HARD and for along time, because they either didn’t understand it or didn’t have the time (I still ain’t quite figured out the exact reasoning). The cleanup would probably take about 2 people, and go back at least 5-8 years. But I just want to say something real quick to finance people (really everyone generally about thinking more creatively). There is a whole LOT of opportunity working with small to mid-sized companies auditing systems that have been and are being overcharged to the tune of many many many many millions. If you could get on a contract with a similiar company recouping monies overpaid giving you a little backend commission, you’d be doing “aight”. And thats just one instance and on one project. There are a host of others I come up with throughout the day. What makes me different, perspective. But again people want to run with the crowd and see the gloom. I am grateful I’ve ALWAYS seen something else. Sometimes the very people who really succeed are in some form of “denial”.

3. Lastly, yes I’m grateful for my job, even the one that’s called a kick off meeting three days ago starting on the exact day and local time of the swearing in of our President-Elect. What would Obama do (even after expressing the intention of taking that day off  WEEKS ago)? I’m thinking his job. And I’m grateful for it. Btw, if anyone’s interested in any inauguration parties in Denver (I’m researching them now), just let me know. lol.

What are you grateful for? What do you see about the world and or your life that no one else does?

  • Good Morning,

I am grateful for my Ipod…I don’t know how I ever lived without it before.

I am grateful that I was able to work something out with The Washington Center regarding their last minute changes in fees and will be in attendance at the Seminar…see you tomorrow DC.

I am grateful that my daughter has been on her best behavior this week cause lawd knows that I would have snapped if anything else happened this week.

    I am grateful for life.

  • I see a lot of things that others don’t in my future. But thing is really I don’t need YOU to see it, if anyone is going to believe in me its gotta be me. If I worried so much about what others thought I COULDN’T DO I wouldn’t be much of anything.

So even though you don’t see behind the curtains trust there is always something going on in the back, and when the curtains finally lift (2 hours later cuz we on cp time) you will be shocked and amazed!!

I am grateful for my little brother. At the ripe ole age of 19 hommie was dropping some relationship knowledge and explaining that any answers that I am searching for isn’t going to come from my friends or family its gonna come from getting down on my knees and praying… I was shocked and amazed and so very thankful for 2 people that are all up in my business (mom and bruh) that really love and care about me.

  • Does anybody know of any facial cleansing/pore stuff products that won’t harm my skin? but clean my face really good?

    please and thanks

  • @ Teacia “I am grateful that I was able to work something out with The Washington Center regarding their last minute changes in fees and will be in attendance at the Seminar…see you tomorrow DC.”

cool, things always do work out for our good.

    @ Mik
“I see a lot of things that others don’t in my future. But thing is really I don’t need YOU to see it, if anyone is going to believe in me its gotta be me. If I worried so much about what others thought I COULDN’T DO I wouldn’t be much of anything.”

okey dokey..you don’t need me to see it then. LOL. regarding the later part of your statement, Obviously you do WANT people who care about you generally up in your business but to me even this has to have limits or maybe it doesn’t.

“Does anybody know of any facial cleansing/pore stuff products that won’t harm my skin? but clean my face really good?”

how much money are you willing to spend? Some stuff can be done at home and others range on the very high la mer hope in a jar type stuff.

  • “Some stuff can be done at home and others range on the very high la mer hope in a jar type stuff.”

Hmmm I dunno I just want a clean face, without breaking out from bad products.

give me some price ranges, I need to be able to buy at the store but id be ok if I had to order online.

  • what are your skin issues? black heads? etc what?
Depending on the severity I would start with a dermatologist, perferably one who specialized in skin of color.

    but what are your issues?

  • Mik on the inexpensive side, Oil of Olay sensitive is good….

@T: I agree with u on the ipod tip. I just upgraded mine from the nano and am amazed by what it does!!!!

    My gratefuls:

    1. Individual: I’m okay with being alone… I don’t have to be in the thick of the crowd, I’m okay standing off to the side… I can sit in my home, alone, rent movies and veg and I’m cool with it.

    2. Independence: I don’t depend on people. If I need something electronic hooked up, I can do it… If I need to put my tables, bookshelf, entertainment center together, I do it. Dvr: Me; it’s all me.

    3. Calm: Don’t get me wrong, I “have my bad days.” but overall, I’m not much of a complainer… I try to stay on the sunny side of life and when I come around, folks know they are going to get a good time and they will be cracking up. when I appear, I don’t get “oh god, what does SHE want?” LOL

  • I had planned on calling in sick today because I deserve it but woke up with a pounding headache and sore throat. ITSNOTFAIR. LOL

I took some Tylenol and waiting for it to kick in. I WILL be going to Indianapolis!!!! :)

  • Skin ID was pretty good for me online.

I’d got some stuff from the dermatologist but it’s so rough… it always starts with burning and peeling your face off first…. LOL.. this one stuff was literally burning me a new face so I tried the skin id… it’s a bit more gentler.

  • Good Morning Everyone,

“how much money are you willing to spend? Some stuff can be done at home and others range on the very high la mer hope in a jar type stuff.”

Not much. I thought Dave had her on that pepsodent and mayonaise skin care budget.

@ Sunny..true dat. me either. Even as people are seeing it all going to hell..i don’t know ..maybe my arse is really in denial.

re: skin ID i’ve heard good things about it too. I mix a lot of stuff Mik, personally, cheap and expensive. I LOVE the exfoliation face toilettes. By Ponds. I also LOOOVE revlon’s moisturizer. I also love la mer’s moisterizer too. its like 200 bucks. but the others are under 10.

I would also recommend having a facial. A derm sometimes can recommend those that are good on skin of color ..but those ethesticians get stuff out of your pores that you never knew existed in a da!mn pore. LOL.

  • @ Hummy

“Not much. I thought Dave had her on that pepsodent and mayonaise skin care budget.

LOL..Me too..but thats why I was tryna figure out If I knew of any real good at home treatments..i did try this avocado and olive oil treatment (i made up)…but thats really for moisturizing and not making the face clean.

  • “@ Sunny..true dat. me either. Even as people are seeing it all going to hell..i don’t know ..maybe my arse is really in denial.”

I think we just know where our HELP comes from Comeback…. it’s no use complaining because everything is already written…

I found this site with a bunch of at home facial recipes (if u don’t want to go out and spend Mik)… let me see if I can find it again.

  • Comeback probably dry skin, I don’t have break outs and things of that nature but nor do I clean my face either, every time I try a deep cleaner it strips all what little oils I have and left my face dry and with cracked skin.

My skin is super sensitive so instead of cleaning it I just let it be to avoid break outs. But I know I would have a nicer glow if I was able to clean it with something, just to have a fresher face.

  • “Not much. I thought Dave had her on that pepsodent and mayonaise skin care budget”

    haha

“but those ethesticians get stuff out of your pores that you never knew existed in a da!mn pore. LOL.”

that sounds nasty, I don’t even wanna know whats in my face lol

  • “Comeback probably dry skin, I don’t have break outs and things of that nature but nor do I clean my face either, every time I try a deep cleaner it strips all what little oils I have and left my face dry and with cracked skin.”

@ Mik..I do too..I can tell you that you should be using products for dry skin. I had some really bad experience with St. Ives cleansing products a few years ago. LOL..My face was looking ashier than a mug. I never knew faces could get ashy even with moisterizer…

but I would also recommend that WHATEVER you buy you need a good cleanser and a MOISTERIZER FOR DRY SKIN. i wouldn’t be using an astrigent either thats alchohol based.

personal..opinion..aint tryna get all up in your facial care business LOL..

  • Cleanse, tone, moisturize…

sometimes u need to do all three steps.

  • do u have dry, oily, or combination Mik?

  • I’m glad you brought this up….

With the amount of time people spend doing non-constructive stuff (i.e. tabloids, gossip and REALITY TV SHOWS) and monitoring other’s lives, they could be building their own, awesome lives.

but of course that takes effort.

If people replaced the time they took watching “dancing with the stars” and actually took a dance class, they’d be at the level of the people on there. Guaranteed.

  • 9:28 she says she has dry skin..i dunno ..I skip the toning step..i feel like if a cleanser can’t get it..an astringent WILL strip more of it particularly on dry skin.

  • Comeback and that is what I get for not reading. LOL..

U are right.. mine is pretty oily, that’s why I tone.

Mik, prolly should get evaluated by a professional… go to macys or something like that so someone can tell u (if u don’t want to try the dermatologist!)

  • Well for my face…which is sensitive and sometimes dry…I’ve been using St. Ives Olive Gel…AND I follow up with Ambi (for dark spots), Cetaphil and sunscreen.

Then of course the occasional Apricot scrub…OCCASIONAL!

AS for the post…I think I have my moments but overall that cool thing can rule me. I haven’t cut people out…but I can be slightly colder than I had been before and I damned sure am not cutting corners on giving my opinion. Working on seeing things in a different way…different perspectives are good :-)

  • Ok thanks guys, I will venture off to the store and see what I can find. I just wanna WASH my face!! lol

  • “If people replaced the time they took watching “dancing with the stars” and actually took a dance class, they’d be at the level of the people on there. Guaranteed.”

Absolutely. It’s a lot though to get up a be really proactive…I dunno sometimes it just hurts but you gotta.

  • @ WhyWhy

erra ummm..I love dancing with the stars, Im also a closet Kim Kardashian/Family and Housewive watcher lol…. But point taken. I do believe that reality tv prolly does speak to unfulfilled living more so than anything else on tv.

I guess where I’m a little different is, (alot of reality shows are givin to “comeback kids” b star celebs) who are hanging on by a real thread…the dominant part of my need to watch is to really root them on. I love underdogs craddle to the grave, and I wanna see them win…this might not be erryone’s motivation for watchin LOL..but its predominantly mine.

  • I am a fresh out of the closet Keeping up with the Kardashians watcher.

They have some cute clothes. LOL

  • I love the Kards! They are so presh…I don’t like them little ones they don’t dress fly.

I also LOVE vh1 shows…(I need to be slapped)

And Style shows…especially Ruby and whose Wedding is it Anyway?

  • I like what not to wear. LOL

  • I do too! Sometimes I like Split Ends…that can be Hilare! I wanna start watching DietTribe on Lifetime…and I love Love LOve LOVe LOVE Army WIVES!!! Not reality but close enough

  • I watch a lot of TLC, design on a dime, property ladder (favorite show), my first house.

  • Ooooh Mik! Mama Jac (that’s really her name) loves HGTV like My House is Worth What? ETC?

  • Bye guys… I may be back on later. I’m leavin for indi.

  • Yep jac all them home improvement shows used to be the death of me, but I live in my apartment now and with dave on my back don’t do to many created home projects.

When I get back into a house its gonna be something terrible lol.

but I kinda have eclectic taste, not to many things match but it always makes u feel at home, people always fall asleep at my house lol

    Have fun Nick!

  • @Why So
“With the amount of time people spend doing non-constructive stuff (i.e. tabloids, gossip and REALITY TV SHOWS) and monitoring other’s lives, they could be building their own, awesome lives.

but of course that takes effort.”

I agree. What I have noticed about people nowadays is that no one wants to do anything that takes effort, hard work, or sacrifice. What they will do is let you do the hard work and sacrifice and ride your coat tails. They are willing to make token gestures of sacrifice and hard work.

  • Howdy Comebackers!

CGB – I have something for you on SSS.

  • Ya’ll Im here the 2520s didnt let me go although they still ain’t letting me take off my days…. but hey what can I do. I am grateful for this job because it has helped to mold and shape the adult Holly that you all know!!

  • Hey Mik!!!

  • whats good girl friend u siked about your date tonight?

  • @ Hummy: “I agree. What I have noticed about people nowadays is that no one wants to do anything that takes effort, hard work, or sacrifice. What they will do is let you do the hard work and sacrifice and ride your coat tails. They are willing to make token gestures of sacrifice and hard work.

effort..hard work..sacrafice..i see what you’re saying..i kind of believe though that when you are really firing on all cylinders living a purposeful life its not hard, you’d stay up all night doing it..and you;d do it for free..that kind of work usually shows in the pudding tho.

@ Cuzzo”CGB – I have something for you on SSS.
” brave chick accepting that challenge..***puts down my sword*** and bows.

@ Holister..”Ya’ll Im here the 2520s didnt let me go although they still ain’t letting me take off my days…. but hey what can I do. I am grateful for this job because it has helped to mold and shape the adult Holly”

that’s what im saying..Obama is going to be President whether you’re in atl or im in denver it don’t change a thing…gratitude is the upside.

  • “that’s what im saying..Obama is going to be President whether you’re in atl or im in denver it don’t change a thing…gratitude is the upside.”

@ CBG: Amen! I will just make sure I am drinking the Ciroc drink that Diddy dedicated to him!!

  • Mik I am psyched about it! We talked yesterday solidified that we would see each other but didnt solidify the plans so I’ll be checking in around 2ish to see what he wants to do and where! Thinking about straightening my hair cause he’s always seen it curly!

  • “2.I’m grateful that I still see opportunity (another post to come) where most people see despair and decline.”

i’m gonna steal this one for me today.

    additionally:
I am grateful for my outlet, singlesistersspeak, it feels good calling myself a writer.

(though we all are cuz we write books in the comments alone everyday)

  • @Holly

hey. “Thinking about straightening my hair cause he’s always seen it curly!”

good thing. i usually wear my hair straight *cough*weave*cough* and when i pull a natural on a dude, he’s like um, who are you and where did anissa go? it’s easier to show em the straight when they seen curly or a fro.

  • LOL @ Cuzzo!!!

Girl!!! Im thinking he is gonna say some stupid ish like I didn’t know your hair was that long or something!

  • “(though we all are cuz we write books in the comments alone everyday)”

    I approve this message

ooooh shucky shucky Holly finna rock the straight style uuuut oooh watch out deh nah!

  • ” i usually wear my hair straight *cough*weave*cough* and when i pull a natural on a dude, he’s like um, who are you and where did anissa go?”

am i a man hater ???? because I honestly don’t really care what a dude thinks about my natural hair or my weave? I just wanna do what I wanna do…is that selfish??

    we will see tomorrow LOL…

  • Mik you silly! I am excited though… thinking about suggesting to go to this wine bar called The Wine Loft

    http://www.thewineloft.net/main/inside.php?page=franchise_info&subitem=objective

check it out what ya’ll think?

  • @ Holister..that place seems hot..they don’t have one in DC :( thats odd..

  • @CBG and Holly

i gotta ease the natural on em…show them pictures before. lol. with one dude we were watching a music video and a girl with natural hair was on the screen…i turned to him and said, that is what my hair looks like underneath here. do you like it?

  • @CBG: Yeah a lot of people have been talking about it… it just opened! and that is weird for ya’ll not to have it!!

Now what’s going that you talking about we’ll see tomorrow, ma’am?

@Cuzzo- what he say? I rock my natural hair all the time… when they see it wet they hate it cause it looks like a jheri curl! LOL

  • “i gotta ease the natural on em…show them pictures before. lol. with one dude we were watching a music video and a girl with natural hair was on the screen…i turned to him and said, that is what my hair looks like underneath here. do you like it?

    f dat.com LOL…

and what praytell would you do if he said..i can’t stand that shat!!!

  • Holly sounds nice, that food menu was making me hungry

  • “Now what’s going that you talking about we’ll see tomorrow, ma’am?”

…do yall think Im just sitting around on this computer thinking of ways to piss off errybody and inspire them at the same time on the weekends..Mama Comeback is Coming Back IN ALL AREAS OF HER LIFE.

  • @ Mik: Yeah it does but it seems a little appetizerish

@CBG: No, but who you piss off??

  • I guess i’m the only dude that like natural hair. Short or long. Straight, curly, or coarse i dont care. I do prefer afros and dreads.

  • “@CBG: No, but who you piss off??

Sometimes my VERY strong opinions I think makes the treehouse empty (and im ok with that too)..but the upside is that im authentic with it..everything i write..i honestly believe and would defend to my death.

  • “because I honestly don’t really care what a dude thinks about my natural hair or my weave?”

    @CBG

if I’m considering or already dating him…I care. I don’t go from Jill Scott, “My Love”… then tomorrow I’m Jill Scott, “A long walk”. Men have a thing about hair. If they are already feeling you that much, it won’t matter but in the beginning…it’s too much.

I don’t want a dude going from predator 106 and Park AJ, to entertainment tonight (or whatever show he’s on now) AJ….too soon.

  • “the upside is that im authentic with it..everything i say..i honestly believe and would defend to my death.”

And nothings wrong with that and you can’t argue with it!!

I knew you were getting your groove on, but you never talk about it… I guess outta sight outta mind!

  • brb going to Chiropractor!

  • @Cuzzo
“Men have a thing about hair. If they are already feeling you that much, it won’t matter but in the beginning…it’s too much.”

Only silly or shallows dudes are like this. I am not leaving b/c of this.

    @Comeback
“Sometimes my VERY strong opinions I think makes the treehouse empty (and im ok with that too)..but the upside is that im authentic with it..everything i write..i honestly believe and would defend to my death.”

I dont think so. I think people appreciate your honesty. We need more of that in the world instead of people getting told what they want to hear.

  • “if I’m considering or already dating him…I care. I don’t go from Jill Scott, “My Love”… then tomorrow I’m Jill Scott, “A long walk”. ”

oh ..”a long walk” is not my spectrum. “Natural” as permed bob …”unnatural” as in “diva is female version of a hustla”..

but the men i date i don’t think really give a dam#n as long as Im comfortable..i think thats the thing..and it goes back to the weight thing too..

it really is the difference between a man who says they would never date a fat woman as opposed to a f.a.t woman..i think its the way you ultimately sell yourself.

and THATs the thing men pick up on..if you aren’t sure about who you are..they arent gonna be either.

@ I dont think so. I think people appreciate your honesty. We need more of that in the world instead of people getting told what they want to hear.

    thanks Hummy..

  • “what he say?”

    @Holly
I think he said something like it’s aight but hers was a lil too all over the place.

“and what praytell would you do if he said..i can’t stand that shat!!!”

    @CBG
lol. I guess we not gonna work out then.

“I guess i’m the only dude that like natural hair. Short or long. Straight, curly, or coarse i dont care. I do prefer afros and dreads.”

    @humble
you’re not the only one. what i’m tryna get at is, ppl are attracted to that image of you in the first place…they might not be as attracted when you spring a new look on them (again…too soon)

if u like curly/kinky and u see me in on a weavy wednesday…even though i am natural…u ain’t checking for me. if u catch me on a kinky twist tuesday and ure feeling me, when i pull a weavy wednesday on ya…would u run?

i dont wanna see dready murphy on monday and “Chance” gel swirls on saturday.

  • Wow…Let’s see I have a relaxer…sort of (it’s time for a touch-up) but anyways…I’ma get in there and wash it. Put this straightening balm and roll with silkener and flat iron and everything will be cool. It’s kinda like…I dunno I could wash and just let dry. But it’d be curly and look a fool. I just don’t really know how to manage it all natural like.

Every man I have ever dated has not had any problem with my hair…whether it’s in a bun, etc. Now with my chubby face…it has to be down…HAS TO BE…or I have to pull some real make up/clear skin tricks.

  • @CBG

“oh ..”a long walk” is not my spectrum. “Natural” as permed bob …”unnatural” as in “diva is female version of a hustla”..”

anything with perm is NOT natural honey. that’s why it’s such a big change for them.

“but the men i date i don’t think really give a dam#n as long as Im comfortable”

yes…the men you date. you’re already dating. would u switch it up from first meeting…to first or second date?

  • “I guess i’m the only dude that like natural hair. Short or long. Straight, curly, or coarse i dont care. I do prefer afros and dreads.”

You aren’t the only one. Let me introduce you to my fantasy baby momma:

    http://cricketfeet.com/casting/projects/brokenwindows/headshots/hayleymarienormanasbennie.jpg

  • @Jac

“Every man I have ever dated has not had any problem with my hair…whether it’s in a bun, etc.”

kinda like my response to CBG. natural (kinks/curls…especially kinks) vs straight is a BIG change. hair pulled back in a kinky bun and a hair back permed bun (1) make you look totally different and (2) make people perceive you differently.

  • “I dont think so. I think people appreciate your honesty. We need more of that in the world instead of people getting told what they want to hear.

ok..natural as in MY hair..this is semantics to me when people go from weave to real hair. but you have a point..women who rock their own with a perm…aren’t being natural i suppose (are they fakin the funk too???) lol..sometimes you cant win for losing.

“yes…the men you date. you’re already dating. would u switch it up from first meeting…to first or second date?

i actually have done this..particularly in the summer..and the dude i did it with thought both ways were cute…my hair (bought or otherwise isn’t really my hangup.)

  • NONO and Hummy yall throwin lots and lots of pics around on SSS and here too LOL..

im glad i got some dayum self esteem bout myself and a few admirers who support otherwise..

    golley lee willekers.

  • the way you are comfortable with you hair creates the confidence that men are “Actually attracted too” its not the hair itself.

When I put on a weave I turn into “diva” and men love it, I think the hair helps but over all its the confidence that the hair gave me.

without the weave im chill, aint I certainly don’t get that much attention with the short look. I am cool with that tho, cuz i can’t afford weave with dave on my back lol.

  • NMH-She’s def a looker. Reminds me of someone I know but natural hair.

Cuzzo-I guess I’ve done both…even just let the hair air dry in front of them and been like let’s just go.
    :) I haven’t really ever had a negative response.

Now where weave is concerned I’ve never even worn a fake pony (thought about it). I dunno I just like myself natural whether that be permed or curly it’s my d@mn hair ya know…

Hairs not my hand up either…not even a little

CBG-I need to holla at you for a Comeback Consultation

  • also id point out the weave just makes me look better “REAL TRUTH”

but again I just can’t rock the weave 24/7 and I would hate to have a man wake up with me taking off my hair, and run from me.

Sooo, I spend more time taking care of my own unpermed hair. No fro tho, NGBATDI

    Im thinkin bout braids tho

  • Can I just point out Carol’s Daughter makes the best products EVER! for hair skin..whatever

  • “NONO and Hummy yall throwin lots and lots of pics around on SSS and here too LOL..

im glad i got some dayum self esteem bout myself and a few admirers who support otherwise..”

    I KNOW RIGHT! lol.

aside from hair…i think there an attractive person is an attractive person bottom line – facial wise. that’s why some women can wear their hair any kinda way and still look fierce.

if ol girl in the pic NMH put up had a shaved head…she’d still be cute.

  • “if ol girl in the pic NMH put up had a shaved head…she’d still be cute”

    right

  • “if ol girl in the pic NMH put up had a shaved head…she’d still be cute”

    And I’d pass on that.

  • “also id point out the weave just makes me look better “REAL TRUTH””

    @Mik

for real doe….some hair styles are just more flattering/fitting. not even on some straight vs. natural…but rihanna’s bowl/peterpan haircut is not gonna look good on everybody.

  • “And I’d pass on that.

    NoNo you lost some points…

  • “And I’d pass on that.

    NoNo you lost some points…”

lol. SEE this is what i was talking about. men feel some type of way about hair (or lack there of). shaved is a style by the way.

(someone look up a shaved beauty for me please)

  • “NoNo you lost some points…”

I cant have a preference? You will holla at any and all men?

  • “I cant have a preference? You will holla at any and all men?”

Nope I can’t do men with corn rolls

  • “Nope I can’t do men with corn rolls”

And more than likely I will not get with a woman with a shaved head.

[snatches points back out of Comeback's hand]

  • “I cant have a preference?”

    @CBG

can’t I point out that THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. lol

    *end noticeable caps*

  • @NMH

no soup for you! CBG said this earlier – “but the men i date i don’t think really give a dam#n as long as Im comfortable..i think thats the thing” and this “and THATs the thing men pick up on..if you aren’t sure about who you are..they arent gonna be either.”

if u holla at kinky doo wop from ure pic, u feelin her, and a week later she’s shaven shawty…ure running.

  • @ Cuzzo “if u holla at kinky doo wop from ure pic, u feelin her, and a week later she’s shaven shawty…ure running.

    LOL

***chases NONO down in a f.a.t girl fashion..and grabs the points back..puts them in her cleavage and DARES him to touch them***

  • if she snips and is feeling and showing her confidence and you start getting all screw faced…ure the one with the problem

humble said this about your problem earlier:

    “@Cuzzo
“Men have a thing about hair. If they are already feeling you that much, it won’t matter but in the beginning…it’s too much.”

Only silly or shallows dudes are like this. I am not leaving b/c of this.

  • can ya’ll tell I KNOW what i’m talking about today. lol.

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“if u holla at kinky doo wop from ure pic, u feelin her, and a week later she’s shaven shawty…ure running.”

Possibly, but its not because she changed, its becuz of what she changed to. Women with shaved heads are not my thing. Now if she changed from the fro to a weave/braids/bob/whatever I would be cool.

  • Imma have to agree with NoNoNoNoNo when its really YeaYeaYeaYeaYea

On this one, how you FEEL is one thing but how someone else FEELS is another, you can LOVE your bald head all you want that don’t mean I got to like it….

some people take the F.A.T to far…

    im just sayin

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

““Men have a thing about hair. If they are already feeling you that much, it won’t matter but in the beginning…it’s too much.”

Only silly or shallows dudes are like this. I am not leaving b/c of this.”

If you go from a hairstyle that compliments you to one that makes you less attractive to me I will damn sure tell you how I feel, and if we cant come to an amicable solution then YES, i am out. Thats like if I decide to change my stylish wardrobe to some tight @ss jeans and some cowboy boots and I say “forget how you feel, IM COMFORTABLE”.

  • @NMH

“Possibly, but its not because she changed, its becuz of what she changed to. ”

what did she change to? an alien? that girl is pretty, hands down.

    weave/braids/bob are your “acceptable” styles.

  • why am I making a paper wand outta the tape dispenser on my desk?

  • LOL @ Mik on NONONONONO destiny child remix song..

I think Cuzzo got a point tho..she so fine and hot to trot with an afro..that is a beautiful girl..so she aint hot nomo with a baldie?

how much of this tho is just a man’s hang ups on what HE deems as beautiful.

I call bullshyt on it tho..cause men don’t always end up with their “beauty type” namely because a woman with self-esteem..will MAKE you think she is hot..and he will take it to the bank and cash that shyt real talk…i hate the phrase “real talk” btw.lol

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“what did she change to? an alien? that girl is pretty, hands down. ”

If she cut off all her hair and had a shaved head I would not find her as attractive as I do now. You may not want to believe me but, believe me, the way you wear your hair can impact your overall cuteness.

  • “If you go from a hairstyle that compliments you to one that makes you less attractive to me I will damn sure tell you how I feel, and if we cant come to an amicable solution then YES, i am out.”

can I talk my sh!t again? I don’t think ya’ll heard me…THIS IS WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.

    *end*

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“I think Cuzzo got a point tho..she so fine and hot to trot with an afro..that is a beautiful girl..so she aint hot nomo with a baldie?”

Not to me. Im sure plenty of men would jump on her with a baldie but I will not be jumping.

  • comeback again I disagree to a certain extent

a man/woman still has a preference we might venture off a lil bit but the basics are still gonna be there

I am NOT dating a man with braids, it just does something negative to my soul.

  • Nono..or whatever you are today…

U feel some kinda way about hair on a woman…what about nails…feeet, etc.

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“I am NOT dating a man with braids, it just does something negative to my soul.”

And I think that is your right, but for some reason as a man I am supposed to let you chop and screw your hair into oblivion and not have a problem with it. Whatever.

  • @CBG

“i hate the phrase “real talk” btw.lol”

another one for the overused terms…lol.

    @NMH
“You may not want to believe me but, believe me, the way you wear your hair can impact your overall cuteness.”

am I the only READING today cuz i said this earlier: “@Mik

for real doe….some hair styles are just more flattering/fitting. not even on some straight vs. natural…but rihanna’s bowl/peterpan haircut is not gonna look good on everybody.”

  • “I am NOT dating a man with braids, it just does
    something negative to my soul.”

    I agree!

  • “If you go from a hairstyle that compliments you to one that makes you less attractive to me I will damn sure tell you how I feel, and if we cant come to an amicable solution then YES, i am out”

umm whats the amicable resolution tooo…”baby, i hope you like this buzz cut (baldie i got)..normal hair grows what like 1/4 -1/2 an inch a month..soo err..you commin back in 6 mos..what ? exactly..

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“U feel some kinda way about hair on a woman…what about nails…feeet, etc.”

Just keep them nice. I would think any woman would take pride in her appearance/hygiene and make sure that if she as caught barefooted by surprise she wouldn’t be embarrassed.

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“umm whats the amicable resolution tooo”

When she says “Im going to step my wig game up until my hair is long enough for people to tell that im not in chemotherapy or a military soldier”.

  • ok NoNONONONO when its really YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH…wigs are acceptable after a bad hair job.

  • ‘“U feel some kinda way about hair on a woman…what about nails…feeet, etc.”

Just keep them nice. I would think any woman would take pride in her appearance/hygiene and make sure that if she as caught barefooted by surprise she wouldn’t be embarrassed.’”

Right I agree with you. i dunno if I look down at my feet right now I’m not ashamed…Hands either really…I think I would be ashamed of my brows…need to work on those before I sat foot out of here…and teeth whitening ARGH

  • I said “Sh*t”

    can i get outta moderation

  • “I am NOT dating a man with braids, it just does something negative to my soul.”

here i come with the what if’s cuz we are talking about a change from the initial meeting here…

    @Mik

u said u wanted to be an actress the other day? or what that someone else? what if dude is an actor and HAS to change his hair for a part? what if he still likes the style after the role is done? what if he’s actually still attractive with it?

i wanna say like me for d@mn me but we KNOW that ain’t the case in the universe. it’s just hair!

    @NMH

what if kinky boo gets sick and her hair falls out? u pulling a eddie murphy on scary spice? u gonna make her wear a wig?

  • “what if kinky boo gets sick and her hair falls out? u pulling a eddie murphy on scary spice? u gonna make her wear a wig?

eddie made scary wear a wig?

  • @CBG

“eddie made scary wear a wig?”

lol. no im talking about how he cold left her….

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“what if kinky boo gets sick and her hair falls out? u pulling a eddie murphy on scary spice? u gonna make her wear a wig?”

    Absolutely.

I really dont see the outrage here. If all my teeth fell out for some reason I would not be surprised nor upset that my lady wants me to wear dentures rather than have me out here gummin it up.

  • Right cuzzo that was me…..

    Ok example:

shamar moore in “diary of a mad black woman” had the most stupidest lookin corn rolls known to man, but you still aint gonna find to many women saying he is ugly because of them braids…

if he was my man and said baby?? I wanna wear my hair like this for a loooooooooongggggg time….

I would have to duce him lol.

  • “rather than have me out here gummin it up.”

u said out here…sooooo, gummy jackson, ure dentures are not comfortable…ure lady wants u to wear them just when you go out….understandable. besides i would think u kinda NEED ure teeth.

but, chillen at home. she wants to wear a head scarf…or expose the baldy. is it a u only want the wig on in public kinda deal? could that be a compromise? wigs are hot as hell.

and…there’s no outrage….we talkin about a subject and running on a wild tangent with it as usual. i even said earlier (about what we were originally talking about which turned into the more long-term) change is going to be hard when ure still getting to know the person.

  • “change is going to be hard when ure still getting to know the person”

exactly, too soon is just too soon and until a ring is on it its still too soon lol…..

    j/k j/k

  • musiq soulchild said

“i will love you when your hair turns grey yeaa, and I’ll still want you if you gain a little wait oooh, the way I feel for you will always be the same just as long as your loooove don’t changeeeee”

    bullshitcoughcoughbullshit

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“but, chillen at home. she wants to wear a head scarf…or expose the baldy. is it a u only want the wig on in public kinda deal? could that be a compromise? wigs are hot as hell.”

Yeah that can be a compromise.

    “there’s no outrage”

CBG chased me down the street and stuffed my points in her boobies. If thats normal in the treehouse then maybe I need to pay more attention.

  • darnit I said “Sh*t” again!

comeback help a sista out geeez

  • did everybody go on a pee break at the same time???

  • Hey yall I’m tardy to the party again today… But I’m finally here and I’m grateful for another year… :)

But to what yall talking about right now Cuzzo you had mentioned something about (someone look up a shaved beauty for me please) Did anybody watch Amazing Race when Ucheena and I forgot his wife’s name was on… Well, she had microbraids and they got to a challenge that wanted them to perform a ritual from the country they were in and it was shave their heads…. Well, she did it and surprisingly she didn’t look bad at all… Her feminine features were strong enough to still make her look beautiul without the hair…

At first when they were cutting it I was like oh my gosh, but afterwards all of us who was watching it was like it looks good on her…. So some people can pull it off with the right features though. :)

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“did everybody go on a pee break at the same time???”

    Guess so.

Some of yall inquired about my ongoings since my layoff and what was I going to do. Well after thorough research and self-discovery of my own wants/desires, I have decided to pursue a career in pharmacy. I have some pre-req’s to get out of the way before I can officially apply to med school so I am starting those classes on Monday. I am somewhat terrified at the potential financial costs, but very excited nonetheless.

  • 80’s please tell me they won the million lol

  • Cool NoNo

we gonna start calling you Doctor NoNo

where do you plan to attend school???

  • Also since im the resident

financial stay outta debt person its my duty to podiumize myself

    ehehehem

I would say its a good idea to look into some scholarships if you can and also start checking into companies that do loan forgiveness, where they pay off your loans if you work for them a certain amount of years. Thats gotta be big in the medical industry.

I understand you are more than likely going to be obtaining student loans for this my advise would be to use them for school only and only take out as much as you need and make sure you not living off the refunds.

    *end information session*

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“where do you plan to attend school???”

University of Southern California (USC). I am taking my pre-req’s at OCC.

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

Thanks for the info Mik, I will definitely heed your advice.

  • So your gonna move urself and the lady out the state eventually???

  • Congrats No More…….

I used to work at CVS in their pharmacy while I was in school and I know they had some serious recruiting initiatives… So it wouldn’t hurt to see what kind of programs/opportunities your local pharmacies currently have.

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

Yeah, we’ll see. I’m not sure she wants to be on the west coast, but im pretty sure she wants to be out of the D, so it may not be to hard to convince her.

  • @ Mik….

And they did actually win the million dollars….The man was already bald. But she just took off her hat and didn’t think twice about it and said do it… Her husband was the one like are you sure…. And she was like we can’t go back…. She took it like a champ… I’ve watched it before where some young 2520’s were gonna have to do that…They were like unh unh not happening.

  • lmao 80’s wow, I am mad I missed that season. I love amazing race but I can never catch it

  • Hi 80s

    Congrats NoNo

    “podiumize myself ”

Mik..im let you have the phrase podiumize myself..it sounds kinda nastie..but happy birfday its yours.

  • “so it may not be to hard to convince her.”

ok cool, I am a big ole fan of people getting an edgeumackation.

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

    Thanks 80’s & Comeback!

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“ok cool, I am a big ole fan of people getting an edgeumackation.”

She is too, she would go to Alaska if thats where I had to go to reach my goal, but I want to make sure she’s happy too.

  • Good Luck on your endevours NMH. you can suggest pills for ure lady to pop to put her in that “peaceful” place, when she gets sick of ure foolishness.

    @80’s

thanks for the response but nah i ain’t seen that show or episode.

  • OMG!!!

I just realized I missed meet the browns yesterday!!

    argggg

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

    Thanks Cuzzo.

“you can suggest pills for ure lady to pop to put her in that “peaceful” place, when she gets sick of ure foolishness. ”

I didnt even think of that. Thanks again!
    [evil laugh]

  • Mik-It’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

    Congrats my darlin NMH
    homie.lover.brother.friend.

  • @Mik… Yeah they were one of the black couples who’ve won along with Chip and Kim….

    @cuzzo… I love Amazing Race… :)

  • 80’s I remember chip and kim

    Loved them!!!

    jac its not funny???

  • 80’s I remember chip and kim

@Mik… I love them too even though Kim whined the whole game… She was always like ” I don’t know baby”….. They lucked up when they won though.

  • wait wait wait….a black man named “chip” was actually married to another black person.

  • lol yea 80’s she was worrisome wasn’t she, but i shed a tear when they was up on that podium.

speaking of tv shows did you ever watch ummmm

    the newlyweds???

  • @ NONO
“She is too, she would go to Alaska if thats where I had to go to reach my goal, but I want to make sure she’s happy too”

***reaches for his points and hands them back***

  • the newlyweds???

@ Mik… I sure did… And I liked that black couple on there who won….. They seemed happy and in love….

  • “They seemed happy and in love”

didn’t they?? and the hubby was so funny even when his jokes wasn’t funny, he made me laugh.

I heard they had to keep the fact that they won until the show actually aired months later. They had a baby too….

just sooo cute, I love all that humbleness

  • @ Mik… But I was crackin up when her dad came to visit with his curl…… And then when they were trying to build that go-kart he wasn’t trying to go by the directions..

He was funny…. And she used to just laugh at him….. They were a cute couple…

  • lol 80’s right that go-cart ordeal was sooo funny, I just loved how they made there decisions together and always on the same page about stuff, they was barely into their 20’s just old enough to drink lol.

They really did deserve to win had me all choked up n thangs lol

  • @ cuzzo.. He sure was… lol I beleive they were from California. Not for sure if that was his real name or not…

But Chip was a really good man… Because they were at the finish line but he wouldn’t go cross it until he could scrape up some money to pay for his cab.

I think I would have been like just hang out here a few and went and crossed it then went back like okay just give me your name and number because I just won million bucks.

  • “I think I would have been like just hang out here a few and went and crossed it then went back like okay just give me your name and number because I just won million bucks”

    lmao ditto

  • @Mik…where did everybody go???

  • @80’s

“But Chip was a really good man… Because they were at the finish line but he wouldn’t go cross it until he could scrape up some money to pay for his cab.”

oh, when u said good man, i thought you were talking about in terms of his lady. but u mean good person. good thing they still won, they musta been far ahead. if not, he wouldn’t be looking like a good person but like a d@mn fool.

  • cuzzo its nothing special its just a phrase that one of the most coolest radio djs around our parts turned basketball game announcer coined and its just kinda stuck around, ya gotta be at a basketball game for it to have full effect.

mason was like the president of radio stations back in the day, he was wholesome funny, educational and he always played the hits. After he got the boot our radio stations went down hill, he still works for one of the old school stations but its still not the same.

back then you could be like 5 and have a blast listening to the radio before school and everybodies parents approved of the radio station. But NOW since he’s been gone (Atleast 10 years) I wouldn’t be caught dead letting my child hear the radio EVER.

He started working for the pistons as an announcer. He like 60 lol

  • The Notorious N.M.H.

“anyone going to see the biggie movie? i must be the only fan that isn’t interested. i feel like the film is either too early or too late.”

I like Biggie. I just don’t know what he did to deserve a movie?

  • “i cant muster up the required excitement”

    lol.

warning: u must be “this” excited to enter

    @humble

“I just don’t know what he did to deserve a movie?”

I know right? he lived, sold drugs, he rapped, he died. i could see if the movie was about the case. but that case ain’t going nowhere STILL. maybe they gonna focus on his relationship with women. gotta reeeeeaaaaach.

8 mile – white guy that could rap, eh. baby momma drama, oh.
